Die US-Sicherheitsstrategie 2025 stellt das transatlantische Verhältnis infrage. Die EU gilt darin nicht mehr als Partner, sondern als sicherheitspolitisches Hindernis. Washington erhöht zugleich den Druck auf die Ukraine, einem Frieden zu russischen Bedingungen zuzustimmen. Für Europa und insbesondere Deutschland endet damit die Annahme strategischer Verlässlichkeit der USA. Sicherheits-, Verteidigungs- und Wirtschaftspolitik müssen neu ausgerichtet werden.

The 2025 US National Security Strategy marks a decisive transatlantic rift. For the first time, the European Union is framed not as a strategic partner but as a security and economic challenge. At the same time, Washington is increasing pressure on Ukraine to accept territorial concessions as part of a peace settlement with Russia. The shift forces Europe, and Germany in particular, to reassess security, defence and strategic autonomy.
